Test Knitting and more mystery flowers

Along the Cabot Trail: Skir Dhu Shawl
Along the Cabot Trail: Skir Dhu Shawl

Here’s the newest design – currently in the hands of some very talented test knitters on Ravelry – and scheduled to be published the middle of August 2013. Can’t say enough lovely things about my testers! They rock!!!!

Skir Dhu is the first design in a series called Along the Cabot Trail. The Cabot Trail encircles Cape Breton Island, NS and is one of the most scenic drives on earth. Named for the small village of Skir Dhu along the Trail, this shawl is a cable and lace design worked in fingering weight yarn – Knit Picks Gloss in this instance.

More Mystery Flowers

My new garden if full of mysteries and this is another — if you’ve been following along, you’ll have witnessed some of my earlier discoveries – like Spiderwort and Rose Campion! So, any ideas on this one?

July 22, 2013 edit: Turns out this mystery flower is an American Pokeweed and alas, needs to go.
