I really like finding new uses for items that have served their original purpose:

  • rose bowls, old mustard or baby food jars make great containers for pencils, knitting needles and crochet hooks

  • zippered cases that used to contain pillow cases are great for my recycled yarn (fuschia lamb’s wool in this case)

this from the January 1976 Woman’s Day magazine

  • old milk/juice cartons taped together (in this case with sticky contact paper) become a tool caddy.

For those of you who weren’t even born in 1976, Recycling was not invented in the 21st century 😉

Although, I must admit, that in those days saving money was as much of an incentive as saving the planet.
