Just a quick update — after the January and February surge and people opening their kind hearts (and pocketbooks) to reach out to help all of the Haiti relief efforts, I think people are a little “patterned out” — so sales for March are a little slower than before but we’re heading toward a $20 donation to the Canadian Red Cross for this month. I know every dollar helps, so thank you everyone!
During the month of February 2010, your generous purchases of PurpleSage Designs, Cranberry Ocean Knits and South Mountain ~ Naturally knitting patterns has enabled me to donate an additional $55.00 to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Relief Efforts. Thank You!
I really appreciate all of your support in this fundraising for the Canadian Red Cross. You can see what a difference you made in January in this Feb 1, 2010 post.
So far for February 2010, 44 patterns have been sold raising $40.81. Thank you!
As mentioned in my previous post, 20% of February’s sales will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Relief effort. Thank you all so much for supporting their good works.
You sent January sales records over the top! Here’s where we’re at so far:
Feb 1 – 8: 10 patterns sold
Feb 9 – 12: 5 patterns sold
Feb 13: 7 patterns sold
Feb 14 – 16: 4 patterns sold
Total raised in February stands at $25.15
Edit Feb 6/10: To date 10 patterns have been sold for a total of $9.55 for the CRC Haiti Relief effort.
Edit Feb 2/10: Things are a little slow, I think, because many designers designated Haiti support only for January and many people may think that that commitment is now over. Only 2 patterns sold to date raising $1.59 for the Canadian Red Cross Relief efforts.
Since your response was so great in January, I’ve decided to continue a modified fund-raising effort for the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Relief fund through to the end of February 2010. For this month, 20% of sales of selected patterns will be donated to the CRC again.
If you belong to Ravelry (free ), you can see all 1400+ patterns from all the designers who are generously donating a portion of their profits to Haiti relief efforts.
The devastation in Haiti will required so much help it boggles the mind. However, even small donations like this one (and it seems very small when you see people donating thousands, hundreds of thousands and even millions of dollars) will help tremendously — because even these little donations will help buy food, shelter and medicine. I believe that every penny counts. Thank you for helping.
Edit: Jan 31/10 — Our total stands at 81 patterns that have raised $195.53 tonight! Thank you!!!!
Edit: Jan 18/10: Wow! I only posted this late last night and already 6 patterns have been sold with a total of $14.68 being raised for the Canadian Red Cross. Thank You so much for your generosity!!!!!
The table will be updated daily to let you know how much your support is donating to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts in Haiti.

Ravelry.com has provided a wonderful way to help designers reach out to those in need.
Ravelry has provided the special Help for Haiti tag for patterns (you have to be a member to see the patterns on these pages — membership is free) so that Ravellers can see at a glance those patterns for which designers are offering to donate monies to relief agencies working in Haiti. Purchasers pay the regular price for the pattern and the designer donates a specified amount to a relief agency of their choice.
Selected PurpleSage, South Mountain ~ Naturally and Cranberry Ocean Knits knitting patterns are part of this program. 50% of sales until January 31, 2010 will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross to aid in their relief efforts in Haiti.
