Two New Patterns to be released soon

Celtic Child Reishi croppedEdit Nov 2009: pattern links added

The 2 newest Celtic Child designs will be released within the next 2 weeks — watch the Pattern Page for details :)

Here are a couple of “Extreme Close-up’s”  — top picture is a hat (Celtic Child ~ Reishi Tam) and the other a lovely blanket (Celtic Child ~ Forest Paths Baby Blanket). See the PurpleSage Designs Patterns page for full descriptions and links to buy these patterns.

Both incorporate cables, of course — one is knit using Mission Falls 136 Superwash Merino (a sport weight) and the other a soy blend from Bernat (a worsted weight).

Celtic Child ~ Iasg: a Jenna Hurry design

iasg-neckline-and-buttonsI am so excited to be able to publish this new pattern.

It’s Jenna Hurry’s Iasg child’s cardigan — published by yours truly. Jenna developed this pattern several years ago and was persuaded to offer it for sale :)

The pdf Knitting Pattern is written for sizes 12 months to 6 years — the unique “fish cable” pattern is repeated on the sleeves and on the back.

This cardi also has a very generous asymmetrical neck opening — style and comfort! cover-cut-out-with-frame-blue

The original was knit in a black cotton — it was just stunning–although not so great for taking pictures!  This pattern is written for DK weight yarn (Rowan Pure Wool DK was used for the model — that’s a size 2 model wearing a 12 month size, btw, so you can see the sizing is generous). The buttonholes are done using Barbara Walker’s One Row buttonhole method — very slick! I’m very excited about this one!

Thanks, Jenna, for sharing this pattern!

There more details on the PurpleSage Knitting Patterns page and LOTS more details on the PurpleSage Designs website.
